Governor's Facebook account now hacked twice

The Communications Office of Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko has broken its silence regarding the hacking of the county boss's Facebook account, which occurred twice.

The governor's account was initially hacked on November 4, with the hackers praising and endorsing his political opponents. Restoration attempts on the first day were successful but, unfortunately, the account fell into the hackers' hands once again.

During the second hacking attempt on the governor's account, a picture of a half-naked woman was posted. It was after this second hacking incident and subsequent restoration attempts that the county boss's communication team decided to inform netizens and residents about the hacking, which left many with questions.

In a letter dated November 5, the county's communications director, Walter Oguda, who wrote on behalf of the governor's press unit, stated that the county's cyber security team had detected unauthorised access to the governor's Facebook page.

The communications team promised to have any official announcements communicated through verified accounts. They urged the public to remain cautious while engaging with unofficial posts on the governor's Facebook page.
